Changes to the IMI Board and Independent Standards Commission

In line with IMI practice to rotate the Board Chair each year, Wolf von Kumberg of Northrop Grumman Corporation, who has served as the IMI Board Chair throughout 2008, will step down as Chair but remain a member of the IMI Board.  Michael McIlwrath, Senior Counsel – Litigation, GE Oil & Gas, who currently serves as a Vice-Chair of the IMI Independent Standards Commission, will take over as Chair of the IMI Board of Directors on 1 January 2009.

Mike will therefore withdraw from his role as a Vice-Chair of the Independent Standards Commission while Judith Meyer will continue as a Commission Vice-Chair. To emphasize the diversity and geographic spread of the Commission’s leadership three well-known mediation professionals – Eileen Carroll, Geoff Sharp and Bruce Whitney, have agreed to serve with Judy as Joint Vice-Chairs of the Commission, and Prof. Tommy Kohwill continue as the Commission’s Chair.
