The World Forum of Mediation Centers was created in 2001 by the Mediation Commission of the UIA – Union Internationale des Avocats (International Attorneys Association).
The aim of the Forum is to bring together the most important mediation centers from around the world, offering an occasion to exchange views, information and practices and to collaborate on specific programs and initiatives. The 12th meeting of the Forum took place at a crucial moment. The implementation of the EU Directive throughout the EU, the creation of the International Mediation Institute, and the turmoil generated by a world in financial and economic crisis present significant change in the mediation profession and the rapidly evolving dispute resolution market. IMI was presented in detail to the 12th Forum by Irena Vanenkova, Operations Director of IMI. To download the presentation with the speaker’s notes, please click here.
