IMI Model Mediation Rules and Clauses

In 2016 an IMI Board Committee drafted a set of Model Mediation Rules and Clauses to be approved by the IMI Board.

Their aim was to provide a neutral set of rules and clauses that parties could consider adopting on an ad-hoc basis. The model is not intended to be adopted without revision by the parties. An underlying principle of the Model is party autonomy, as the parties are free to deviate from the model on any matter they wish, and the model is designed to be universally applicable to any mediation style, such as facilitative, evaluative, or transformative.

The Rules and clauses were finalised in early 2017 and are now posted on the IMI Portal, along with a list of rules and clauses created by other organisations.
