Call for members: IMI Qualifying Assessment Program Appraisal Committee

IMI is recruiting three further members for its QAP Appraisal Committee.

What does the committee do?

The IMI QAP Appraisal Committee receives applications from organisations who wish to have their program approved as a ‘Qualifying Assessment Program’ and audits existing programs, in order to ensure a continuity of compliance with the existing standards. These programs assess experienced mediators, in order to confirm their quality as ‘IMI Certified Mediators’. Work is conducted on a voluntary basis, with a commitment of ~3-5 hours per month.

Once a QAP application is received and checked for completion by the IMI Team, a call for volunteers is made to the Appraisal Committee. Once 2-3 volunteers are available, the application is sent to them for review and feedback. The application is assessed against IMI’s criteria. If the application needs improvement, it is sent back to the applicant; otherwise, it is given a final assessment by the Appraisals Committee Chair.

The work of the Appraisals Committee is vital, as QAPs are the ‘quality gateway’ for mediators to become IMI Certified. View current members here.

  1. Dear Ivana

I would be happy to consider joining the IMI as a Task Force/Committee member. Would it be possible to send me some information on the work required for Task Force members which is where my interest lies. You may wish to Google my name for details of my credentials and background.
Wishing you and everyone at the IMI a prosperous New Year

    Dr Al Jarratt
