As mediation continues to evolve in an increasingly digital and interconnected world, practitioners are navigating complex ethical questions that extend beyond traditional frameworks. This seminar will bring together leading mediators, legal practitioners, academics, and dispute resolution professionals to explore how core ethical principles can continue to guide practice in an era shaped by artificial intelligence, online and hybrid mediation, mixed-mode dispute resolution, and cross-cultural engagement.
The discussion will also consider how global ethical frameworks, including the IMI Draft Code of Conduct for Mediators, can support professional excellence while remaining responsive to diverse legal systems, institutional practices, and cultural contexts. Topics will include emerging ethical challenges in AI and online dispute resolution, mediator fees, and the role of international standards in strengthening mediation practice.
