We are pleased to invite you to another edition to MTI EA and ICMC-EA’s International Mediation Conference, in Nairobi and online, with the central theme of “Expanding the Mediation Pie by Professionalizing the Trade, Building Public Trust and Ethics”.
- Date: 29–30 October 2026
- Hosts: Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC – EA) and Mediation Training Institute East Africa (MTI EA), an IMI Implementing Organisation
- Venue: Golden Tulip Hotel, Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya
- Format: Hybrid (Physical and Virtual)
The theme of this year’s edition is “Expanding the Mediation Pie by Professionalizing the Trade, Building Public Trust and Ethics.” The theme recognises that the future growth of mediation depends not on competition among practitioners, but on expanding opportunities for mediation across sectors, jurisdictions and dispute categories. Sustainable growth requires professional standards, ethical practice, effective regulation, quality education, public confidence and innovation.
IMI Board Member James Mangerere is co-organizing this conference on behalf of MTI and will also participate as a speaker. Additionally, our Executive Director, Ivana Ninčić Österle will be speaking on Thursday, 29 October 2026 within the panel “How do we professionalize mediation?” as part of the Day 1 programme, which focuses on “The Foundations – Professionalization & Market Expansion.”
We are also pleased to share that, as an additional perk, IMI members receive a 15% discount on registration. Please check the registration fees tab for more details.
