I like that mediation gives you a purpose. It’s very rewarding to know that you’ve been able to help people. I also believe that as a mediator you develop a lot of skills that are not only useful for you as a professional, but also for you as a human being, that it makes you a better person. Finally, I also think that it is very interesting to have non-routine work, and as in mediation each case is very unique, it makes working as a mediator very interesting.
Being passionate for conflict resolution, and especially mediation, I am working towards becoming an accomplished dispute resolution practitioner and a full time mediator. To this aim, I am currently attending several trainings and accreditations, and doing a mentorship with Claude Amar.
Mediation enables me to make the best out of my personality and skills: approaching situations with calm and common sense, listening and understanding the uniqueness of each context, identifying and keeping focus on the core, being creative, and having the satisfaction of helping people out of difficult places.
Finally, mediation also enables me to gather the strengths of my versatile work experience: my cultural understanding gained from having lived and worked on three continents, the five languages that I speak, my understanding of business through both managing a small business and taking part in multi-billion engineering project, and my knowledge of international politics and economy obtained through working in an embassy and my studies.
