Leandro has devoted his studies to mediation and arbitration since 1996. He began his professional career in the area in 1998 because of his approach to CAMARB, where he served as a trainee, internal legal adviser and external legal counsel until being invited to participate as a member of the CAMARB Board in 2012. As soon as Leandro became a member of CAMARB’s Board of Directors, he entered into a partnership with the CPR Institute, which allowed the Institute to start its activities in Brazil. Through this partnership, Leandro helped CPR organize several Congresses and Workshops on business mediation. In addition, Leandro was responsible for drafting CAMARB's mediation rules and implementing this service in that Chamber in 2015. After that he became CAMARB's Mediation Vice President and launched CAMARB's Business Mediation Competition in 2016.

His first official training in arbitration and mediation took place in 2002, when he participated in the Multiplier Training Project of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in partnership with CACB and SEBRAE Nacional. Leandro has also participated in mediation training courses offered by the CPR Institute and the Institute of Mediation and Arbitration of Brazil (IMAB). 

Leandro has accumulated more than 20 years of experience in arbitration, mediation and corporate law. He has extensive experience as a manager of institutions providing mediation and arbitration services. His professional profile still deserves to be highlighted by the experiences of living abroad, having lived for one year in the United States of America and for almost three years in France.

Leandro acted as mediator in different types of conflicts. His experience includes family cases, corporate dissolution, family businesses, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, construction and engineering, bankruptcy among others. Having dedicated his early career to arbitration, Leandro intensified his role as a mediator from 2010, when he returned from his doctorate in France. Since then, Leandro has become one of the leading names in mediation in Brazil, being always remembered and indicated by his peers to act as mediator.

Leandro has mainly served as private mediator in the business area. In addition, Leandro also works as a judicial mediator before the Court of Justice of the State of Minas Gerais and as mediator and supervisor of mediators in undergraduate courses in mediation at PUC Minas.

Leandro is able to adapt and understand different cultures, being always attentive to understand the true interests and needs of the parties involved. Leandro is an excellent listener, able to perceive details that would be missed by many. Sensitive and firm at the same time, Leandro has presented good results in his activities as mediator and received praise from the users of his services. Leandro is well versed in the techniques and process of mediation, which allows him to adapt his performance to the needs of the parties. His mediation style can be classified as being facilitative and evaluative when necessary.
