The Mediators’ Green Pledge, originally launched by the World Mediators Alliance on Climate Change (WoMACC) in 2020, is entering a new phase. The Pledge was established following the COVID-19 pandemic to solidify greener ways of working within the mediation profession and prioritize long-term environmental action. Promoted by WoMACC over the past years, it empowers mediators across the globe to proactively mitigate climate change and foster more sustainable mediation practices.
The International Mediation Institute (IMI) will soon assume stewardship of this initiative and work to revitalise the global network of environmentally conscious mediators and environmentally responsible mediation practices.
In anticipation of World Environment Day – 5 June 2026 – we invite Green Pledge signatories to share their best practices and ideas to help shape future programming.
Sustainability is not a side topic. It should be part and parcel of professional responsibility.
If you have previously signed the pledge, we look forward to hearing from you and connecting within this new chapter. We also look forward to welcoming new signatories, once IMI takes over stewardship of the initiative.
Please fill out the form below and share your continued commitment by:
- Sharing Best Practices: Tell us about your best practices in implementing the Mediators’ Green Pledge – inspire others!
- Sharing practice highlights: Have you been involved in ESG or climate change mediation, or have you written on these topics? Let us know and we will share with the rest of the community on the revitalized website for the Mediators’ Green Pledge.
- Contributing to event planning and programming: Do you have specific ideas or topics for future events? Help us inform the programming of the Green Pledge!
- Committee Participation: Are you interested in joining IMI’s Committee on the Green Pledge? Step up from being just a signatory to becoming an active contributor in shaping programming and the future of this initiative.
We aim to give this initiative a fresh impetus and a renewed shared purpose to empower mediation practitioners across the globe, with a view to revitalizing this global network of environmentally conscious mediators and promoting environmentally responsible mediation practices.
Let’s reinvisage what this initiative will look like, together!

“Let’s use this opportunity to seek renewed energy and share common purpose, as we take to the skies like a murmuration of mediators, changing shape and adapting to challenges and opportunities as this new and exciting phase of the Mediator’s Green Pledge unfurls!”
