The International Mediation Institute (IMI) is delighted to support the Australian National Mediation Conference (NMC), taking place between 21 and 24 September 2025.

From September 21-24, 2025, the Australian NMC will feature a dynamic agenda blending professional development with social events. Beyond cultural tours, workshops, and receptions, the program’s core will focus on plenary sessions and parallel streams on a wide array of dispute resolution topics, including family, commercial, workplace, and public sector mediation. The conference will also spotlight critical discussions on ethics, sustainable practice, and the impact of technology.
On Wednesday, September 24 at 2:15 PM, IMI Ethics Committee members Lola Akin Ojelabi and Mary Walker will present the IMI Draft Code of Professional Conduct and discuss the Committee’s vital work.
After three years of intensive deliberation, the IMI Ethics Committee published the first version of the Draft Revised Code of Conduct for Mediators in 2024. The First Round of Public Consultation ran from September 2023 to April 2024, inviting mediators and stakeholders worldwide to provide feedback and help shape the Code. In May 2025, the IMI Board approved the launch of a Second Round of Public Consultations and established the Board Sub-Committee on the IMI Draft Code of Conduct to provide guidance and recommendations to Ethics Committee.
