The International Mediation Institute is happy to share an invitation from the ProMediation & ProWellness Foundation (Poland) for the next session of their international series, Cross-Culture Mediation and Communication Insights 2025.

Cross-Culture Mediation and Communication Insights is a series of events designed for legal experts, including judges, attorneys, mediators, and consultants. This series serves to provide essential tools to navigate cross-cultural communication challenges in today’s interconnected world.

This goal aligns well with IMI’s mission, within which the promotion of IMI’s Intercultural Competence Criteria is a fundamental pillar.

Your feedback is crucial for the ongoing development and impact of our Intercultural Competence Criteria.

This session will explore:

  • Cross-cultural approaches to dispute resolution in Singapore and Southeast Asia
  • Lessons from mediating complex commercial, public interest, and ESG-related disputes
  • Institutional perspectives: World Bank Group, UN, IMI, IAM
  • How cultural context shapes mediation processes, expectations, and outcomes
  • Developing effective practice standards for international and cross-border mediation

The distinguished guest for this session is Tat Lim, one of Singapore’s most respected mediation experts, IMI Chair, and managing partner of Aequitas Law LLP.

With more than two decades of experience in mediation and dispute resolution, he has handled a wide range of domestic and cross-border matters across Asia and beyond.

Tat has mediated cases administered by leading institutions including the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC), Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), AAA-ICDR, ICC, WIPO, the Vietnam Mediation Center, and the International Commercial Mediation Center for the Belt and Road Initiative.

He serves as a regional consultant and mediator for the Compliance Advisory Ombudsman (IFC, World Bank Group), the Accountability Mechanism (World Bank Group), and the Global Mediation Panel of the United Nations Funds and Programmes, mediating numerous disputes involving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues.

Participation in this event is free and open to all via Zoom, with simultaneous interpretation provided in Polish and Ukrainian.
