The Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts) are inviting applications from eligible mediators to join the DIFC Courts Panel of Mediators, which supports the work of the DIFC Courts Mediation Service Centre.
The Mediation Service Centre, officially launched in September 2025, provides parties with an efficient and flexible alternative dispute resolution pathway within the DIFC Courts framework. Mediation proceedings are conducted in accordance with the Mediation Service Centre Rules and may be held fully electronically, enabling parties from different jurisdictions to participate remotely. Settlement agreements reached through mediation may also be formalised as enforceable Mediation Orders through the DIFC Courts’ Enforcement Writs. The Centre offers a flexible and cost-effective alternative to litigation, while still providing a pathway to binding and enforceable outcomes.
To support the operation of this service, the DIFC Courts maintain a Panel of Mediators composed of experienced professionals capable of assisting parties in resolving disputes through mediation.
Applications for inclusion on the Panel are governed by Practice Direction No. 1 of 2026 – Guidelines for Registration on the Panel of Mediators, which establishes the eligibility criteria, application procedure, and professional standards applicable to registered mediators.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate, among other requirements:
- experience conducting at least five mediations as lead or co-mediator
- completion of recent mediation-specific continuing professional development (CPD)
- knowledge of the DIFC Courts Mediation Service Centre Rules and procedures
- membership in, or registration with, a recognised professional mediation institution
Applicants will also be required to submit supporting documentation, including a CV or résumé, proof of mediation training and professional qualifications, evidence of mediation experience and recent CPD, and relevant identification documents, as outlined in the official guidelines.
Applications must be submitted through the online application form available on the DIFC Courts website. Further details regarding eligibility criteria, supporting documentation, and the application process are available in the Practice Direction and accompanying guidance.
We invite IMI Certified Mediators and IMI Qualified Mediators possessing the requisite experience to review the eligibility criteria and consider applying for inclusion on the Panel.
