Qualifying Assessment Program (QAPs) assess highly-experienced mediators for the purposes of IMI Mediator Certification – the international gold standard for mediator certification
The assessment program operates in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, with coordinators in each country to implement and monitor quality standards. Currently offered in English, through in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
IMI CMTP approved as of 12 November 2019. Hybrid version of training course (mostly online, with an in-person practicum) approved July 2021.
Certified Mediator Training Programs (CMTPs), deliver high-quality mediator training that meets the international standards established by the International Mediation Institute and recognized by intergovernmental standard-setting bodies, such as the CEPEJ. These standards are independent measures of quality and are created in consultation with stakeholders and practitioners around the world, under the guidance of IMI Task Forces.
