I became a mediator for financial reasons at first. My motivation was to make more money. But then, I realized that mediation was more than that. I live in Istanbul, Turkey, one of the biggest and most stressful cities in the world. Almost everybody is stressful and nobody has time to solve a problem by communication. Mediation allows me to contribute a peaceful environement.
I currently work as a sole practitioner lawyer in Istanbul, Turkey. I work in a varity of industries, including entertainment law, information technology, telecommunication and media law. Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating agreements for entertainment industry professionals as well as overseeing sales, purchases and transaction within distribution, marketing and talent sector. Clients list included a theatre company, management companies, authors, directors, fashion designers.
Prior to opening my own law office I worked at the legal department of AVEA, the sole GSM 1800 mobile operator in Turkey with 11.4 million nationwide customers. Gave litigation and corporate advice, prepared court petitions on consumer law, attended meetings and drafted contracts on sales, network, corporate, distribution, and marketing. Worked with customer services, sales, purchasing, human resources, corporate relations, network and marketing departments of AVEA.
I take over 150 cases in Istanbul. In Turkey, before filing a lawsuit regarding employement law or commercial law, it is mandatory to complete meditation process first. Mediation is a pre-condition to litigation. Therefore, my focus has been on employment and commercial law. From now on, I would like to find which legal field I really enjoy and focus on that field.
