Michael was truly a force of nature. He swept along people and altered ways of thinking, and showed us all the power and the pull of indomitable commitment. I am doubly blessed — first, to have Michael as a dear friend, and second, to have been fortunate enough to bring Michael’s ideas and energy to the CPR Board during my years as president of that organization. Though I was initially a bit of a doubter regarding the concept of the IMI, Michael made us all believers along the way. I have quite a few fond remembrances of Michael, but the most vivid memories are of Michael enrapturing an audience by reciting “Every Breath You Take (I’ll Be Watching You)” in the course of giving a version of his Mediation Message, and spending a beautiful autumn afternoon driving down the Wye Valley to Tintern Abbey together. He was, is, and will remain One of a Kind — our extraordinary Michael Leathes.
