Leadership changes at the International Mediation Institute

In line with governance reforms initiated during the Annual Board meeting in February 2024, the IMI Board has unanimously elected Tat Lim as the new Chair and Leonardo D’Urso as Vice Chair.

The election follows the decision of Angela Herberholz and Manon Schonewille to step down from their respective roles as Chair and Vice-Chair, which was made voluntarily and with mutual understanding between IMI and the chairs. While there were some differences in perspective regarding the strategic direction and focus of the organization between the outgoing chairs and IMI, both have appreciated the opportunity to contribute and remain confident in the organization’s continued progress, as well as in finding ways to collaborate in the future.

The IMI Board extends its heartfelt gratitude to Angela Herberholz and Manon Schonewille for their significant contributions to the mission of IMI, both within the boardroom and beyond. With their keen initiatives many important projects were launched, including the Young Mediators’ Initiative and the IMI Mediation Advocacy Task Force. The Board looks forward to continued collaboration with them as key members of the IMI community.

Tat and Leonardo expressed their gratitude to the Board for placing their trust in them to lead the path to necessary organizational reforms together with the IMI community.
