My interest in mediation stems from a belief that many disputes can be resolved more effectively through constructive dialogue than through prolonged litigation or arbitration. Having spent much of my career advising clients in high-value commercial disputes, I have seen first-hand the financial, operational and personal costs of adversarial proceedings.
Mediation offers parties the opportunity to retain control over outcomes, preserve important commercial and personal relationships, and achieve solutions that may not be available through a court or tribunal. I am particularly passionate about helping parties navigate complex cross-border disputes where legal, cultural and commercial considerations often intersect.
My objective as a mediator is to provide a structured, impartial and confidential process that assists parties in identifying their underlying interests, evaluating risks realistically and exploring practical pathways to resolution.
I am a UK-qualified Solicitor and dispute resolution practitioner based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I currently practise as a Partner at Bin Sevan Advocates & Legal Consultants, where I advise clients on a broad range of commercial, corporate and cross-border disputes.
My practice encompasses international arbitration, commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, employment matters, contractual disputes and private client issues. I regularly act in matters involving parties from multiple jurisdictions and have experience working with legal systems influenced by common law, civil law and international arbitration frameworks.
In addition to my legal practice, I have completed accredited mediator training through Phoenix Dispute Solutions and am committed to promoting mediation as an effective method of dispute resolution for both commercial and private disputes.
I am fluent in English and German and am available for both in-person and online mediations.
I have extensive experience assisting clients in the resolution of complex domestic and international disputes. Throughout my legal career, I have advised individuals, corporations, shareholders, investors and business owners in matters involving commercial contracts, corporate governance, joint ventures, employment issues and cross-border transactions.
My dispute resolution experience includes proceedings before courts, arbitral tribunals and alternative dispute resolution forums. This experience provides me with a practical understanding of litigation and arbitration risks, enabling me to assist parties in evaluating settlement options realistically and constructively.
