Rod is a highly experienced investigator and criminal intelligence analyst with over 30 years of expertise spanning law enforcement and private sector investigations. His recent focus has been on leading complex litigation support operations, particularly forensic accounting investigations, international trade intelligence, successful asset and people tracing, and intricate intelligence gathering in high-stakes, contentious matters.
Rod’s distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement includes prominent and latterly senior investigative roles with the Metropolitan Police and the Royal Hong Kong Police. During his tenure with Hong Kong’s Commercial Crime Bureau, he spearheaded major cross-border fraud and money laundering investigations and chaired a long-standing corporate governance working group, providing counsel on regulatory and ethical compliance across diverse industries.
A pioneer in intelligence-led policing, Rod oversaw regional intelligence units and statutory witness protection programmes. His extensive expertise in surveillance, counter-surveillance, and protective operations offers clients a distinct strategic edge where appropriate. As a former expert witness in deception-related cases, he brings analytical precision and courtroom credibility to complex legal proceedings.
Rod has collaborated extensively with international enforcement bodies, including managing INTERPOL Mutual Legal Assistance Letters of Request (notably for bank search warrants in money laundering investigations) as a Commissioner for Oaths. He also organised the 20th INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference and has been a regular speaker at the International Symposium on Economic Crime at Jesus College, Cambridge, most recently addressing cyber fraud and business email compromise.
He holds degrees in law, security management, and policing, and is a qualified mediator, further reinforcing his strategic, solutions-focused approach to risk and dispute resolution.
