Parties and counsel who have used Judge Platt would overwhelmingly use his services again and would, without hesitation, recommend him to others. Typical of the comments reflecting Judge Platt’s acceptability are: (i) Judge Platt is an excellent mediator; (ii) I have suggested Judge Platt to opposing counsel for mediation, and I am about to retain him again; (iii) He is capable, neutral and professional; and (iv) Judge Platt is first rate. Judge Platt’s mediation skills and abilities are rated as highly effective. Typical of feedback received in this regard are: (i) Judge Platt has great skill as a mediator and manages client expectations well. He was persistent and did not try to rush the process; (ii) He showed persistence, determination and fairness to all parties; (iii) All parties had confidence in his evaluative skills; and (iv) Judge Platt is persistent and he gets tough cases settled. Judge Platt is also highly regarded for his ability to effect a positive outcome. For example, one provider of feedback noted that in their experience having a mediator with judicial experience relevant to the type of case is most important, and that plaintiffs and insurors have confidence in the process using such a mediator. Costs were widely reported as reasonable in the context of the value of the disputes mediated by Judge Platt, and in general a very high degree of satisfaction was reported. No reportable negative comments have been received since Judge Platt’s designation as an IMI Certified Mediator.
