The FDI Mediation Moot seeks to promote understanding about international investment mediation and explore its potential. The competition will be held online from 25-27 March 2022.

Students compete as negotiators and mediators. Each session is mediated by a student mediator and an experienced mediator acting together in co-mediation. The sessions are scored by two assessors. The competition weekend is an opportunity for mediation professionals to engage with professional mediators while guiding 36 teams from 9 countries in the role of a mediator or assessor.
About the roles
Assessors: Assessors score written negotiation and mediation plans of the competing teams at the beginning of each mediation. At the close of the mediation, they score the performances of the students in the mediation and provide feedback.
Acting mediators: Acting mediators co-mediate mediations with student mediators. The role of the acting mediators is to support the students as needed. Competing students and acting mediators meet to discuss their plans at the beginning of each session and take one break during the session to discuss their evolving strategy. Acting mediators provide feedback to competing students at the close of each mediation.
Dates
The General Rounds of the competition will be held on Friday, 25 March and Saturday, 26 March.
The Semi-Final Rounds and final round will be held on Sunday, 27 March.
