Event Invitation: ‘East Meets West: A Legal and Mediation Dialogue Between Portuguese-speaking Countries and Singapore’

The International Mediation Institute (IMI) is delighted to support ‘East Meets West: A Legal and Mediation Dialogue Between Portuguese-speaking Countries and Singapore’, during Singapore Convention Week 2024 led by the Institute for Certification and Training of Lusophone Mediators, an IMI Implementing Organisation!

The Singapore Convention Week is an event that aims to promote mediation as an effective method of dispute resolution. As a partner, ICFML is promoting a conference on the theme ‘East Meets West: A Legal and Mediation Dialogue Between Portuguese-speaking Countries and Singapore’.

This enriching event is structured around three engaging panel discussions. The first panel explores the legal frameworks of mediation in Lusophone countries and Singapore. The second panel examines how mediation is institutionalized within court systems and other government-managed frameworks. The third panel shares practical mediation experiences and innovative approaches from seasoned practitioners in Singapore, Brazil, and Portugal. This event aligns with the Singapore Convention’s goal of facilitating cooperative dispute resolution on a global scale.

It will be conducted online, free of charge, and will feature live simultaneous translation to Portuguese.
