BRDGES Academy is proud to submit Mediator Sharon Morrissey
Ms. Morrissey has fully met the requirements of at last 200 hours or 20 mediations. She fully meets and exceeds the training required to become an IMI Neutral. In addition to her training, she also is a certified member of the Mediation Institute of Ireland (“MII”). Mediator Morrissey is also the author of "That's Not My Ending!"
"When one looks at the work Morrissey is doing as a practitioner in the family breakdown sector, it is clear that this book is a weapon designed from her experience. A weapon that she hopes will help jolt those who come in contact with the industry into an appropriate choice of forum for resolving their dispute - a forum that would best place the needs of affected children at the centre of any necessary conversation. As the President and CEO or BRGES Academy, a fully qualified IMI QAP, I have independently reviewed over a dozen of her feedback digests and have fully assessed her as having the require-site mediation skills and knowledge. Below is her Profile which I have created and quoted from her over a dozen Feedback Forms provided by her clients and submitted to me on our IMI Feedback Form.
Ms. Morrissey consistently received a “5” rating (high) on the question of: How likely are you to use this Mediator again? All said that they would recommend her as a Mediator to others. Many commented on her skills, empathy, and knowledge:
■ She has a great understanding of people and child development. She takes time with the clients on an individual and joint basis. When though the children are physically not in the room with us, we felt they were there as the process was always brought back to them.
■ Very high level of skill and empathy. Showed huge emotional intelligence and was exceptionally logical when arguments arose between parties. She allowed us to talk to each other and intervened when we were not able to manage ourselves.
■ Sharon is made for this job. She is compassionate without being taken for a fool and quickly asked for examples if perceptions were varying greatly. She is almost magical and knows what we are thinking almost, but never presumes to know. I suppose experience has made her as good as she is.
■ She has a great understanding of people and child development. She was exactly what we needed at the time.
