Feedback digest
The Mediators’ Institute of Ireland is a professional institute that does not assign mediators to specific cases nor does it evaluate the performance of mediators through direct client feedback. This Review included a self-declaration by the mediator of client feedback – both verbal and written. Treasa Kenny is a professional organisation and workplace mediator with over 400 hours of mediation practice. The feedback received from clients consistently thanks her for her support in enabling them to address conflicts and effectively seek resolution. Treasa began her mediation practice in 2002 and many of her clients come from either personal recommendations or from repeat business. The qualifications achieved by Treasa, including a Masters in Conflict Resolution and Mediation, meet the Continuous Professional Development requirements of The Mediators’ Institute of Ireland. Treasa’s qualification and practice as a Human Resources Professional give her the necessary knowledge and experience to understand the issues facing parties in organisational and workplace conflicts. Her experience in organisational systems development including management, intercultural and conflict skills training inform her practice. Working in organisations in the Financial Services Sector, Voluntary Sector and Third Level Education Sector have given Treasa an insight into how a range of organisations work and the myriad of issues that can arise in the workplace. As Director of Accreditation of The Mediators’ Institute of Ireland for the last 3 years, Treasa has helped to ensure a consistent standard of competence for mediators in Ireland through work with training providers and in the assessment of mediators. Treasa has enjoyed a high level of success mediating workplace disputes including two-party and multi-party disputes; disputes involving family businesses, Public Sector and Private Sector organisations, conflicts within small businesses and large institutions; often where parties have been represented by lawyers and by Union representatives. She is experienced in working with parties from different countries, different cultures and different backgrounds. A core strength in Treasa’s approach is her ability to work in a flexible and enabling manner with parties, working to a transformative or facilitative style as appropriate. Her capacity to support parties who are engaged in complex, multi-layered disputes and with varying and diverging interests to creatively engage is key to Treasa’s success as a mediator. No reportable negative comments have been received by the Mediators’ Institute in relation to Treasa’s mediation practice.
