Feedback digest
This Feedback Digest is based on 7 Feedbacks from 7 Mediations, initially submitted in June 2009. Parties and counsel who have used Alida Camp would overwhelmingly use her services again and would, without hesitation, recommend her to others. Typical of the comments reflecting Ms. Camp’s acceptability are: (i) Alida Camp was excellent as a mediator and I would be very happy to use her again; (ii) I often include Alida’s name on lists of mediators when negotiating with opposing counsel. She is very smart, extraordinarily diligent and very able; (iii) Ms. Camp has patience, fairness, and the ability to keep the parties from giving up; (iv) I would be more than willing and often times try to use Ms. Camp as a mediator. I have and will continue to do so and I believe Ms. Camp is not only effective, but very cooperative and flexible to work with; (v) Alida Camp’s temperament is well suited for mediation and she is knowledgeable about construction related matters; (vi) Ms. Camp was thoroughly prepared, professional and effective, and she was quite skillful in getting the parties to arrive at a mutually acceptable resolution of the dispute. Ms. Camp’s mediation skills and abilities are rated as highly effective. Typical of feedback received in this regard are: (i) I would rate Ms. Camp’s skill and ability very highly; (ii) Ms. Camp was diligent and persistent; (iii) Ms. Camp overcame considerable hostility and recrimination on several personal levels in the multi-party matter she handled. Not only were her interpersonal skills tested and up to the mark, her technical skills, as well as her ability to absorb and understand the concepts, issues and personalities involved were quite impressive; (iv) Ms. Camp had the ability to find common ground between very antagonistic and forceful principals and this was impressive. She had the ability to get the individuals to see, despite firmly held views of their own, the strengths in the other parties’ positions and the weaknesses in their own, without antagonizing or aggravating the situation, and this was impressive. She also had the ability to digest and balance various conflicting points of view, which contributed to the successful outcome; (v) Ms. Camp had patience in dealing with both sides and the ability to communicate effectively with counsel; (vi) Ms. Camp’s experience with construction litigation and knowledge of impact of evidence at trial made a decisive difference in the outcome. Ms. Camp is also highly regarded for her ability to effect a positive outcome. For example, one provider of feedback noted that Ms. Camp was very patient, thoughtful, and sensitive to the interests of both sides. She showed a deep commitment to her job of resolving the dispute and, if not for her efforts, the matter would probably not have been resolved amicably. Costs were widely reported as reasonable in the context of the value of the disputes mediated by Ms. Camp, and in general a very high degree of satisfaction was reported. No reportable negative comments have been received since Ms. Camp’s designation as an IMI Certified Mediator.
