Mediator: Kathryn Munn Reviewer: Colm Brannigan colm@mediate.ca Last Update: June 25, 2009 This Feedback Digest is based on 14 Feedbacks in 25 plus mediations initially submitted on June 25, 2009 Ms Munn has consistently been rated at skill and performance level 5 by all Feedback respondents whether counsel or parties. All Feedback respondents would recommend her as a mediator and all would be willing to use her services again. Most are willing to provide a reference to parties considering the engagement of Ms Munn as a mediator in the future. Feedback respondents were either satisfied or very satisfied with the mediation process as conducted by Ms Munn irrespective of the outcome of the mediation itself. This satisfaction carried through to the costs of the mediation. Ms Munn has demonstrated a wide range of mediation skills from setting a positive tone for the session(s) to maintaining a balance between the parties. Other strengths noted by Feedback respondents include: careful listening, honest and open communication, unbiased, sensitive to specific cultural issues, use of a variety of mediation techniques, persistence in finding agreement, and excellent use of questions. One respondent, with significant experience in mediation, stated that Ms Munn has exemplified the dedication and enthusiasm in her profession that serves as a model for highest achievement in the field. From the Feedback it is apparent that Ms Munn brings a professional and skilful approach to the mediation process where she identifies common ground in the interest identification phase of the process and converts the issues of conflict to problems that can be solved collaboratively by all present. No reportable negative comments have arisen in any Feedbacks to date.
