MEDIATOR: Mr. Keith Ashmus REVIEWER: AAA/ICDR STAFF imireviewer@adr.org Last Update: Tuesday 23rd November 2010 This Feedback Digest is based on 5 Feedbacks in 5 Mediations as of November 23, 2010. Parties and counsel who have used Keith Ashmus would overwhelmingly use his services again and would, without hesitation, recommend him to others. Typical of the comments reflecting Mr. Ashmus’ acceptability are: (i) Keith Ashmus is a community resource. I’ve always known him to be a fair and very bright person. He helped facilitate the process greatly; (ii) Mr. Ashmus is a highly skilled mediator. I have already scheduled another mediation with him; (iii) I have used Mr. Ashmus several times with success. He has a good temperament and realistic approach; and (iv) Mr. Ashmus has a good grasp of employment law. Mr. Ashmus’ mediation skills and abilities are rated as highly effective. Typical of feedback received in this regard are: (i) Mr. Ashmus was very calm and reassuring. He was extremely fair and logical; (ii) Mr. Ashmus has the ability to assess and highlight to each party their strengths and weaknesses, as well as practical considerations for settlement; (iii) Mr. Ashmus was able to get everyone to dial down a notch and get realistic; and (iv) Mr. Ashmus was able to cut through the chaff and get right to the weaknesses and strengths. Mr. Ashmus is also a highly regarded member of the U.S. District Court’s Federal Panel of Mediators. The court’s ADR Administrator noted that Mr. Ashmus is a skilled mediator, very thorough with the mediation process, and has the ability to move litigants past obstacles which hinder the mediation process. It was also noted that the court uses Mr. Ashmus as a trainer for its mediation programs. Costs were widely reported as reasonable in the context of the value of the disputes mediated by Mr. Ashmus, and in general a very high degree of satisfaction was reported. No reportable negative comments have been received since Mr. Ashmus’ designation as an IMI Certified Mediator.
