Mediation Profile

Mary Damianakis is an accredited mediator now, residing in Quebec, Canada. She has been mediating disputes in a variety of areas and in a number of different countries for over twenty four years.

She became exposed to the significance of the Hague Convention Treaties while residing in Liechtenstein. This experience, contributed to her interest in cross border negotiations and mediation, more then twenty years ago. 

Mary began mediating union disputes in 1985 and has since expanded her practice. Currently she focuses on workplace disputes, family mediation , banking disputes, religious divorces, cultural conflicts and international family conflicts.

Furthermore and of great interest both on a personal and professional level, is the Hague Convention of 25 October 1980 on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Her practice specializes with and international child abduction mediation for many years. 

Mary has worked and lived in a number of different countries therefore she has developed a deep understanding of, and ability to manage, the subtleties, underlying needs and cultural values that can play out in international and other disputes. 

Mary Damianakis serves on the executive board of Family Mediation Canada, AMFQ board, long time member of ACR (AFM /SPDR) International, Family and Commercial Sections, Mediators Beyond Borders and a member of the ABA’s Dispute Resolution Section.

She has been mediating disputes in a variety of areas and in a number of different countries for over twenty four years.
