IMI, including YMI, are delighted to be a Supporting Organisation for the upcoming event “Virtual African International Mediation Week (AIMWEEK2020) and Strategy 20 Conference”, to be hosted by WASILIANAHUB Mediators Kenya from Tuesday 01 to Friday 04 December 2020, 7am-7pm Nairobi time.
During the event, IMI Executive Director Laura Skillen and YMI Co-Founder Angela Herberholz will be presenting at an international panel for young mediators and mediation mentors during the conference, on the topic “IMI, YMI, and Certification”. This session will be followed by an expert discussion incorporating stakeholders and practitioners.
A first for Kenya in terms of collaboration by local mediation service centres and training centres, the Conference is organised by WASILIANAHUB Mediators Africa, Kenya in partnership with WestNile Mediation Centre, Uganda. The overall theme of the Conference is “To Reequip For The Reemerging World; Intercepting Africa’s Dispute Economy”.
Discussions will include practical suggestions on how to equip high level executives, consumers, stakeholders, and critical government, corporate, and civil society institutions and practitioners, to empower them to choose mediation first in exploring appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms, enabling them to leverage the benefits—including relationship-building, resource efficiency, improved public image, and peace.
WASILIANAHUB is creating a society in which all people have access to use neutral options in resolving conflict and the ability to achieve sustainable outcomes that enrich lives. A community of professional mediators dedicated to increasing the understanding and use of professional mediation by building Africa’s largest portal of mediators, starting off from Kenya. We are enriching lives; relationship building, resource efficiency, public image and peace.
