The Mediator’s Green Pledge may be viewed on the World Mediators Alliance on Climate Change (WoMACC) website, and individuals are invited to consider their practice and sign. This illustrative Green Pledge outlines concrete steps that each of us can take to reduce the impact on the climate of each mediation we conduct.
IMI is proud to support this initiative. Mediators with IMI profiles who have signed the Pledge may add this to their profiles.
On Friday 5 November, during the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP 26, WoMACC are holding two special online seminars for all signatories, to discuss how the Green Pledge can be promoted, what the challenges are and how as mediators we can support each other as we try to reduce our carbon emissions and help the planet to survive climate change. These will be held for two hours each starting at 7am and 7pm UK time, with guest keynote speakers including William Ury, co-author of Getting to Yes, and Lim Tat, IMI Certified Mediator and Mediation Advocate and member of IMI’s Independent Advisory Committee.
